About Meadow Pond Farm

Carl and Kathy Ernst became interested in horses after retirement and moved to Pennsylvania in the late 90’s. Carl, a native mid-westerner, took up competitive reining in the NRHA to learn riding skills. This focused program, coordinated by National Reining Horse Professional Jerry Coleman, Carl Riding served him well and culminated in 2006 when Carl and Custom Sentinel (Walter) finished in the Top 10 at the All American Quarter Horse Congress in Columbus, OH. Although the competitive reining years are fond memories of Carl and Walter, the fundamental equestrian principles of balance, leg-guided riding, well-disciplined and well-bred quarter horses and equine control are evident throughout the Farm. Meadow Pond’s programs are taught by experienced equine instructors and focus on teaching youth and adults lifelong riding skills. Although Meadow Pond horses have strong reining backgrounds, they have the mental aptitude and versatility to teach Western and English riding. At Meadow Pond we strive to make equestrian activities educational, enjoyable and fun for all ages.
